MECHANICAL ENGINEER/ PACKAGING MACHINE DESIGNER
Status:  Full-time (salary)
Relevant work experience:  5+ years working with packaging machine design
Minimum education level:  Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable amount of training/OEM experience
Location:  Belcamp, MD

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for executing the machine design and detailed drawings of packaging systems. This includes conceptual design, engineering and detailed manufacturing drawing generation. This individual must have a good understanding of automated systems and process flow for robotic palletizing, case packing, and material handling systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptual design/implementation of packaging machine design

  • Communication with other mechanical engineers and machine shop / assembly personnel

  • Assembly/Testing of systems at Automated Motion facility as well as field start-up at customer facilities


Work Environment

  • Most work is performed in the employer's workplace. Travel will be necessary to install and start-up systems at the customer's facility. Overnight travel will be required.


Competencies:


  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable training/OEM experience

  • Experience with robotic and servo based machines is a must

  • Experience with Autocad 3D a must.  Autocad Inventor is preferred  

  • Ability to conceptualize ideas and design from blank page without supervision

  • Must be a team player

  • Willing to travel within the USA and Canada

  • Strong organizational and analytic skills  

  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and internet proficiency

CONTROLS ENGINEER/ PROGRAMMER
Status: Full-time (salary)
Relevant work experience: 5+ years working with Kuka, Motoman and/or Fanuc robots
Minimum education level: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or comparable amount of training/OEM experience
Location: Belcamp, MD

Career Level: Experienced (non-Manager)

The Controls Engineer is responsible for executing the controls engineering and programming of systems. This includes drawing development, engineering and programming of PLCs and robots. This individual must have a good understanding of automated systems and process flow for robotic palletizing, case packing, and material handling systems

Responsibilities

  • Conceptual design/implementation of PLC ladder logic, robot programs, and Human Machine Interface (HMI) development

  • Communication with other electrical/controls engineers to develop controls plan

  • Programming/Testing of robotic systems at Automated Motion facility as well as field start-up at customer facilities


Work Environment

  • Most work is performed in the employer's workplace. Travel will be necessary to install and start-up systems at the customer's facility. Overnight travel will be required.


Competencies:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or comparable training/OEM experience

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix5000 is a must. Experience with other PLC platforms would be a bonus

  • Experience with Kuka, Motoman and/or Fanuc robots is a must

  • Experience programming automated palletizing, case packing, and material handling systems is preferred

  • Ability to conceptualize ideas and design from blank page without supervision

  • Must be a team player

  • Willing to travel within the USA and Canada

  • Strong organizational and analytic skills

  • AutoCad proficiency
